1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions govern all orders placed with Draughtsmith (trading name of IKOU LTD, IKOU LTD, Unit 13A, Galaxy Business Park, Newburn Bridge Road, Blaydon-on-Tyne, NE21 4SQ). By purchasing from our website or any authorised sales channel, you agree to these terms. We reserve the right to update or amend these terms at any time without prior notice. It is your responsibility to review them before placing an order. Please note that these Terms are governed by UK law.
2. Ordering & Payment
- All orders must be placed through our website or an approved sales representative
- By placing an order, you confirm that you are 18 years or older, as it is illegal to sell alcohol to anyone under 18 in the UK
- Payment must be made in full at the time of purchase unless otherwise agreed through our finance options
- We accept major debit and credit cards, as well as other approved payment methods including Payl8r finance (subject to eligibility and approval)
- Prices are subject to change at any time. The price you pay is the price displayed at checkout unless there is an obvious pricing error
- Orders are subject to availability. If an order cannot be fulfilled, we will notify you as soon as possible and offer an alternative product or a full refund
- We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion
3. Finance Options
- Finance is provided by Payl8r and is subject to status, eligibility checks, and approval
- By selecting a finance option, you will be entering into a separate credit agreement with Payl8r
- Full terms and conditions for finance agreements are provided by Payl8r at the point of application
- Finance options are available for equipment purchases only, not for beer kegs or consumables
- Draughtsmith is not responsible for the approval, management, or terms of any finance agreement
- Failed finance applications will not affect your ability to purchase using alternative payment methods
4. Delivery Policy
4.1. Shipping Options
- Standard UK Shipping: Orders placed before 12 pm on Monday will have an estimated delivery of a maximum of 10 working days
- Express Delivery: Orders placed before 12 pm with an estimated delivery within 1–3 working days (Monday–Friday)
- Next Day Delivery: Orders placed before 10 am (Monday–Thursday) will be delivered the next working day
- Free Delivery option applies to trade accounts only
4.2. Use of Third-Party Couriers & Delivery Process
- We use UPS and other third-party shipping providers for deliveries
- Customers will receive an email notification once their goods are in transit, including tracking details
- Customers can track their parcel at any time using the courier’s tracking system
- Once in transit, customers are responsible for contacting the courier directly for delivery updates
4.3. Delivery Responsibility & Refunds for Delays
- Standard Shipping: If you select standard shipping, no refund will be provided for shipping delays that are not our fault, as long as the order is eventually delivered
- Express & Next Day Delivery: If your order does not arrive within the promised timeframe due to an error on our part, you may be eligible for a refund as per our refund policy
- Delivery Conditions: All deliveries must be signed for by an adult (18+). Proof of age may be required upon delivery
5. Installation Services
- The Draughtsmith Pro system requires professional installation by our qualified technicians
- Installation appointments will be scheduled following equipment delivery
- The customer must ensure adequate access, space, and utilities (power, water, drainage where applicable) are available at the installation location
- The customer is responsible for providing a suitable installation environment as specified in the product documentation
- Any modifications to the installation location required for fitting (such as cabinet adjustments or additional plumbing work) are the customer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed in writing
- Installation services are included for the Draughtsmith Pro system; the Studio TAP25 is a plug-and-play system requiring no professional installation
6. Refund & Return Policy
6.1. Equipment Returns – Change of Mind
- If you decide to return equipment after delivery, you must notify us within 14 days of receiving it
- Equipment must be unopened, unused, and in its original condition for a return to be accepted
- If equipment is already in transit and you change your mind, you must accept delivery, notify us immediately, and we will provide you with a return shipping label. A collection fee will apply for the return
- For installed equipment (Draughtsmith Pro), returns may incur additional charges to cover uninstallation costs
6.2. Beer Keg Returns – Change of Mind
- If you decide to return a keg after delivery, you must notify us within 14 days of receiving it
- The keg must be unopened, unused, and in its original condition for a return to be accepted
- If the keg is already in transit and you change your mind, you must accept delivery, notify us immediately, and we will provide you with a return shipping label. A £46 collection fee will apply for the return
6.3. Faulty or Damaged Items
- If you receive faulty or damaged equipment or kegs, you must notify us within 14 days
- We will arrange collection at no additional cost and offer either a full refund or a replacement
- For installed systems, we will arrange for a technician to assess and rectify any faults
6.4. Beer Quality & Consumption
- Refunds will only be considered if the beer is found to be off, contaminated, or not fit for consumption
- Any claims regarding beer quality must be reported within 14 days of delivery
6.5. Refund Processing
- Once a refund is approved, we will process it within 3–7 working days
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method
7. Subscription Services (Draughtsmith on Demand)
- Subscription services include regular maintenance, line cleaning, and optional keg delivery
- Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis as per the selected plan
- Customers may cancel their subscription at any time with 30 days’ notice
- Cancellation does not affect the warranty or support for purchased equipment
- Missed maintenance appointments due to customer unavailability may incur rescheduling fees
8. Warranty & Maintenance
- All Draughtsmith equipment is covered by a manufacturer’s warranty as detailed in the product documentation
- The warranty covers manufacturing defects and faults arising from normal use
- The warranty does not cover damage resulting from improper use, lack of maintenance, or unauthorised modifications
- Regular maintenance is recommended to ensure optimal performance and may be required to maintain warranty validity
- Customers with active Draughtsmith on Demand subscriptions receive priority maintenance and support
9. Liability & Responsibilities
- Draughtsmith is not responsible for any indirect or consequential losses resulting from delays, faulty products, or service issues
- We are not liable for any issues arising from improper handling, incorrect storage, or misuse of equipment or kegs after delivery
- Draughtsmith is not responsible for any injuries or property damage caused by misuse of dispensing equipment or tapping systems
- Customers are responsible for ensuring equipment is operated in accordance with the provided instructions and safety guidelines
- Kegs must be stored and handled according to the guidance provided to maintain beer quality
10. Cancellations & Amendments
- Orders cannot be cancelled or amended once they have been dispatched
- If you wish to make changes to your order before dispatch, please contact us as soon as possible
- Installation appointments may be rescheduled with at least 48 hours’ notice; short-notice cancellations may incur a rescheduling fee
11. Legal Compliance
- It is illegal to supply alcohol to anyone under 18 years of age. By placing an order, you confirm that both you and the recipient of the delivery are 18 or over
- Customers are responsible for ensuring their use of Draughtsmith equipment complies with all applicable licensing requirements and regulations
12. Data Protection & Privacy
- Draughtsmith collects and processes personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018
